Power to the People - Generators for Ukraine

Ukraine has lost more than 30% of its power stations to Russian strikes and the concentrated attacks over the last few weeks may mean this figure is even higher.

As temperatures plummet below zero, millions of people will be left without heating and electricity this cold winter.

Many areas are relying on generators to power their hospitals, schools, water supply facilities, relief centres, shelters, and mobile phone masts. There have been long periods of blackouts and worries are rising that Ukraine could experience a health crisis this Winter if energy problems continue.

Residents are scrambling to buy candles and generators in order to maintain light and warmth over the coming months, but these are in short supply. The strikes have plunged millions of people into extreme hardship and appalling conditions of life.

LoveBristol Ltd has been working on the border of Poland and Ukraine with Ukrainian refugees since March. We’ve now helped 800 Ukrainian people resettle with sponsors in the UK.

We’ve organised a number of aid trips into Lviv, working with Churches and Distribution Centres and have developed a network of aid workers in the area. We are now working with towns in Ukraine to support those who have lost homes and key amenities in the war.

Along with food items and medical supplies, generators and power packs are often listed as the most urgently needed aid supplies. For areas that have already been so extensively damaged, a Winter without power could cost many lives and further alienate communities.

We are asking for donations to help buy power supplies for the Ukrainian people we are working with. We will try to source the majority of these generators in Poland or other neighbouring countries in order to support their economies and reduce the environmental impact and high costs of extensive land travel from the UK.

All donations will be warmly received and contribute towards these vital supplies. We greatly appreciate your support and ask that you would share this campaign with others in order for us to buy as many generators as possible for vulnerable people in Ukraine.
